From September 2023 the Umbraco 7 version will no longer be supported by the company, which means that old websites could be exposed to security breaches and bugs, without minor versions with repairs and improvements.

EOL is End of Life. In other words, the end of the life of Version 7 of Umbraco. A year from now – Version 8 will be declared to have reached the end of its life. This means that Umbraco’s development team will no longer support that version, no features or security repairs will be issued. Features may not work properly, and the official recommendation is not to store websites in Version 7.
EOL is one of the most common reasons for upgrading a website, but not the only reason.
